Well, after a month at my job I still really like it. Everyone is really nice, and it's going really well. I've been told several times that I'm going a great job, which is nice to know, seeing as how its so nerve wracking to wonder if your doing well at a new job. I've been so busy lately though. We are swamped at work, so it's been a crazy way to learn everything. I feel like everything was kind of thrown at me to see how much I could catch, even though I know that not true. So, stressful but good.
Well, my new job is good! It's data entry and office management, so it's not a huge party or anything but everyone is really nice. I'm thrilled with the hours though, I never realized how much I loved having an 8am-5pm job, until I didn't have one. I like that I don't have to get up at 4am anymore! *happy dance of joy*
There isn't a lot to tell though. Nice people, nice hours, good pay, weekends off! I'm happy.
Alexis started playing softball, she loves it. She's good too!!! The seaside stars is the name of her team. It's so much fun to watch her. Other then that, not much going on. I'd like it to be May already ( pirates and season two of the magnirficent seven....it's gonna be a good month), but since I haven't built the time machine yet, I guess I have to wait. *mumbles to herself about stupid physics and univeral laws* Where is the TARDIS when I need it?
Wow, this was a long weekend. On friday, in the afternoon, I got a phone call saying that my brother-in-law had been involved in a hit and run accident while on his bike and that he was on the way to the ER. Melissa was hysterical, and she wasn't sure she had someone to watch the kids and she didn't want them at the hospital in case something was really wrong...
So my mom, and Amanda (My other sister) and I got in the car and headed up to Monterey as fast as we could. We got there about 10 and picked up Alexis and Ethan from one of my sister friends house. Alexis was hysterical. She didn't know what was happening only that Daddy was hurt and at the hospital with mommy. Ethan, as babies can, could tell that there was something wrong, so he was cranky and upset.
We went to Melissa's house and I got Ethan to go down and sleep, and Amanda managed to get Alexis down. No one got any sleep. But Aaron is going to be ok. It turns out that what the police thought was a hit and run, wasn't.
This is what happened:
My brother in law has this really high tech bike that has to go into the bike shop every couple of months to make sure all the hydrolics and brakes and everything are working. On thrusday, he picked up the bike from the shop. He rides all the time and he goes pretty damn fast. Well, he was on the busy main road coming home and all the sudden his front tire went flying off the bike and he went over the handle bars. He landed on his left side, for the most part, his face hit, his helmet broke (thank god he was wearing one or he'd be dead) he's covered in contusions, he broke his shoulder and his collar bone, one of his ribs broke and punctered his lung and he had a massive concusion. They found out about the rib and lung when they made him pass out. He was telling the doctor that his chest hurt. She they were going to do a chest x-ray, which are usually taken standing up. When they tired to have him stand, it forced his rib out of the lung and he passed out. They did a cat scan and tons of test.
They sent him home the next day, which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. But since he's in the navy, the hospital out in town will only keep him if he's critical since they are not sure that navy medical will pay the bills. We were pissed, he shouldn't have been released. This morning he was nueasas and short of breath and felt really weak. They kept telling him that he has to be careful cause a sneeze or cough or even a deep breath could cause the hole in his lung to became larger or tear open or something. Doctors are stupid, he should still be at the hospital.
I guess the important thing is that Aaron is going to be ok. I've informed him he is never allowed to ride a bike again, seeing as how when they were stationed in Japan, he was hit by a car while on his bike and had to go to the ER.
Now, I'm just tired...
